What they are

• Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist, known from medicines such as Ozempic and Wegovy.
• Tirzepatide acts on both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, known from Mounjaro.
• Retatrutide is a triple agonist for GLP-1, GIP and glucagon, still in clinical trials.

Why lab testing matters most here

The peptides are sold as freeze dried powder in vials, and the buyer cannot see or weigh the amount in each vial. The price is high and demand is large, which makes underdosing and contamination profitable for careless producers. A Janoshik test shows both content in milligrams and purity in percent, and it is the only way to know what is actually in the vial.
